I read a funny post that I have to share about messaging, just in the title of blogs:
Alex’s suggestions are hilarious, but accurate. We’ve mentioned the three keys to messaging before but they are
- know your audience
- know what they want
- know why they need you
All of your communication-from headlines on blogs, to marketing materials and venues, to elevator speeches–are driven by this. If you know your audience, I mean really know them, their likes, dislikes, what color socks they wear, where they shop, if you understand these elements, then finding the words to use to get their attention gets easier.
Alex had some good tips on blog posting titles. Use them.
