My goal is to answer the question “What is public relations” and what can it do for my business? PR isn’t just press releases. It’s about two way communication, open and honest dialogue and building relations with various audiences for your business: investors to clients, employees to vendors, neighbors to competitors. People do business with people they know; even a business they don’t “know” but feel they do–because of public relations.
For 22 years I’ve worked in public affairs, using public relations and marketing to influence policy and policy makers, motivate voters and volunteers, conduct media relations and market services and education programs. Simultaneously for the last ten years I’ve taught the next generation of professional PR practitioners-it’s time to translate that to transitioning journalists, small business owners, entrepreneurs, non profit directors, rookie practitioners missing elements in their education or candidates.
